R-W-C Policy

1. Retractions

AGRARIS: Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development Research is committed to playing its part in maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record; therefore, on occasion, it is necessary to retract articles. Articles may be retracted if:
a. There is a major scientific error that would invalidate the conclusions of the article;
b. Where the findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing and permission;
c. Where there are ethical issues such as plagiarism or inappropriate authorship;
d. Where unethical research has been reported;
e. It contains material or data without authorization for use.

The procedure of retraction in AGRARIS: Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development Research is as follows:
a. The complaint may be submitted via the journal editor
b. An article requiring potential retraction is brought to the journal editor's attention
c. The editor investigates the manuscript with at least two Editorial Board Members
d. The investigation reviewing all correspondence relating to the case in question
e. The purpose of the investigation is to establish that correct procedures have been followed and that decisions have been reached based on academic criteria.
f. The investigation findings will be reported to the Editorial Board Forum to decide the retraction
g. Where the decision is taken to retract, and the article to be retracted has been published in previous issue, AGRARIS: Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development Research will issue a retraction statement which should be published separately and will be linked to the article being retracted. A "RETRACTED" watermark should also be added to the published article.

2. Withdrawal
Withdrawal is only used for accepted articles and/or articles in press that represent early versions of articles and sometimes contain errors or may have been accidentally submitted twice. The articles may represent infringements of professional, ethical codes, such as multiple submissions, bogus claims of authorship, plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, or the like. Accepted articles and/or articles in press may be withdrawn and will be removed from the schedule. The author should make a letter for withdrawal that informs the specific reason.

3. Corrections
AGRARIS: Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development Research encourage readers and authors to notify them if they find errors. Once notified, journal will work with authors and their publishers to correct significant published errors. A published error is significant when for example but not limited to:
a. important content is incorrect;
b. the error affects the interpretation of data or information presented in the article;
c. the article’s funders are not acknowledged in compliance with their rules; or
d. the article’s metadata (author list, title, etc.) is wrong, thereby affecting its discoverability on third-party abstracting and indexing sites.

AGRARIS: Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development Research welcomes feedback on all errors to improve, but not all errors require correction after publication. Minor copyediting or typesetting errors that do not affect the meaning or interpretation of an article are generally not corrected after publication, nor is content added to an article that is beyond its original scope, such as additional references or updates to the text based on information not available at the article’s time of publication. The journal’s editor will determine whether an error is significant enough to merit correction. Journals should consider retraction if errors are so fundamental that they invalidate the findings. Corrections arising from errors within an article should be distinguishable from retractions and statements of concern relating to questionable research practices. Corrections should be included in indexing systems and linked to the original article online.

The correction format will depend on the article’s publication stage. For those articles that have been published in Early View, corrections may be made directly to the article online. For those articles which have been published in an issue, a corresponding correction statement will be co-published with the original article.
